De Nieuwe Yogaschool is a well-known yoga school in the centre of Amsterdam, with a wide range of classes, workshops and training courses. You can go there daily for yoga classes at every level, given by a permanent team of professional teachers.

There is also the DNYS Academy, where you can follow training courses to become a yoga teacher. The school focuses on personal development, but also on quality, structure and accessibility. There is also the DNYS Café, a quiet place where visitors can go for coffee, tea and healthy snacks before or after class.

A WordPress website, easy to manage and linked to a booking system

The New Yoga School had a clear wish: a modern, clear website that matches the professionalism and the extensive range of the school. The existing website was outdated, difficult to manage and not well aligned with their new booking system: Momence. Momence manages all yoga classes, including times, locations and availability. It was important that this offering Automatically became visible on the website, so that visitors can easily view lessons and make a booking directly.

In addition, the new website had to be easy to manage by the DNYS team itself. Both pages and blocks had to be flexible in use with attention to findability and content structure. An additional challenge was the distinction between the regular yoga school and the DNYS Academy, where courses are offered. This academy section had to be clearly recognizable within the site, but technically remain integrated in one manageable system.

Quickly set up pages and an SEO friendly WordPress website

We developed a custom solution WordPress website that visually radiates tranquility and is technically strong at the same time. The site is linked to the Momence platform. With the available API we retrieve data and present it on the website. The current class schedule is automatically visible on the website in this way. Visitors can easily scroll through the offer, filter classes and place a booking directly. In this way, the offer remains always up to date, without the team having to manually maintain data.

The back-end of the site is designed for ease and flexibility. Content blocks can be freely deployed and edited, allowing the DNYS team to can build pages quickly, change or expand. SEO-friendly structures have been taken into account, such as well-configured metadata, nice URLs and clear headings. A separate section has also been developed for the DNYS Academy, with its own style based on adapted use of color, but technically integrated into the same WordPress installation.

From design to working WordPress website in three months

The request for a new website came with extra pressure: the previous site was End-of-Life and was taken offline by the supplier. Within three months a completely new site had to be up and running – from the first idea to design and realization. In intensive collaboration with the product owner and marketers of De Nieuwe Yogaschool we have all wishes mapped out in a short time. We developed this into a clear scope with which we could quickly and effectively Could create a WordPress website.

We started with a design kickoff in which we established structure, atmosphere and style. Based on that we made a first web design, which was tightened and approved in close consultation. We then started with the web development of the website in WordPress, including the connection with Momence. In sprints we delivered components step by step which were tested and evaluated on a staging environment.

Thanks to the good cooperation, clear feedback and tight planning, we were able to deliver a completely new platform in three months. The site went live smoothly and has been actively used and managed by the DNYS team ever since. Even after going live, we remain involved for optimizations and new requests. This way, the website grows along with the ambitions of De Nieuwe Yogaschool.
