Of the 10.000 most popular websites in the world, 30% use WordPress as their CMS. The share of WordPress websites has been growing steadily in recent years and has now broken the 30% barrier. Joomla, Drupal and Magento follow with 3,1%, 2,2% and 1,2% respectively. tech site Tweakers reports based on data from W3Techs.

Of the 10.000 websites that W3Tech monitors, not every site uses a CMS. Looking at only the websites that use a CMS, the share of WordPress sites is even higher, at just over 60%. This makes WordPress the most used CMS system in the world. Joomla and Drupal follow with 6,3% and 4,4%.

The results of the annual were also published in December 2017 WordPress User Survey. This shows that users especially appreciate WordPress for the user-friendliness of the system and the extent to which websites can be adjusted and expanded.
