Physiotutors is a international education platform that helps physiotherapists deepen their knowledge with practical, evidence-based content. With a large Community The platform offers online courses to professionals worldwide, interactive tools and educational media that can be directly applied in practice.

The design of the new platform was developed by Mars Media, while Van Ons was responsible for the technical realization and further development.

The question: from outdated LMS to scalable learning platform

After the launch of the Physiotutors app in 2024, the need arose for a completely renewed LMSThe existing WordPress platform was not fast enough and offered too little flexibility to develop new features. Physiotutors wanted a modern learning platform that is scalable, international growth supports and deeply integrated is with the app.

A major challenge was the migration: Not only course content had to be transferred, but also user accounts, payment history and existing learning data. At the same time, the platform had to accommodate new functionality such as AI support, interactive videos, accreditation points and automatic payouts to instructors.

The solution: custom LMS in Laravel & Filament

We developed a completely new online course platform in Laravel with Filament, where courses can be flexibly structured from chapters, modules, and quizzes. Admins can manage and expand content independently without any technical expertise.

To purchase a course or subscribe, the platform supports direct payments via Stripe, including invoice payments, volume discounts, bundles and couponsThe checkout has been fully customized so that Physiotutors can be flexible. experimenting with pricing models and promotions.

Each course is designed as a rich content environment where interactive elements are central. Using H5P, instructors can add questions within videos, which keeps students actively involved during learning. Students can also ask questions via a integrated Q&A function, where answers are visible to the entire community.

A fully automated migration transferred all data from the old WordPress platform to Laravel, including users, courses, and payment information, without manual work for the team.

Smart automation and AI

Automation plays an important role within the new platform. Quiz questions are dynamically composed based on user progress and difficulty level, making the learning process more personal. Students receive automatic recommendations for new courses based on their profile and interests.

The website is complete multilingual, where content is delivered via a easy integration Automatically translated into seven languages. Admins can easily manage these translations before they go live.

An integrated Clinical Assistant AI helps users with evidence-based clinical questions, while podcasts, thanks to a link with ElevenLabs AI automatically made available in multiple languages.

Further development of the Physiotutors app

In addition to the LMS, the app was also further expanded with new functionality. We developed a Portfolio Tracker, which allows users to automatically track their activities and apply for accreditation points through personalized reports and certificates.

We also introduced a new premium subscription model and an integration with Superwall, which allows the Physiotutors team to build paywalls and A/B test without developers. Thanks to real-time data, conversion rates can be continuously optimized.

The app is fully integrated with the LMS via APIs, allowing quizzes, progress, and learning data to be automatically synced between web and mobile.
