There was last Saturday The Cat Boat, the only animal shelter located in the water on the Singel in Amsterdam, was broken into. In addition to the collection box, the thief also took an old camera. The owners of the Amsterdam web development agency Van Ons, located on the Herengracht, Robert van Eekhout and Bas van der Lans, think it is a very cowardly action and therefore offer De Poezenboot a check for € 250 and a new camera to compensate for material damage.

pznbt-90912439(1)Robert van Eekhout: “The Poezenboot is a household name in Amsterdam, the volunteers have been taking care of the cats for so long. We know that it is difficult enough to arrange everything financially and then a cowardly theft like this is the last thing you wish on anyone.” Bas van der Lans adds: “When we heard that there had been a burglary, we didn't hesitate for a second and contacted De Poezenboot. It is nice to be able to support this initiative!”

“Fortunately, the damage was limited to material damage. The most important thing is that all cats remained unharmed. We are incredibly happy with the camera and the donation!”

The monetary donation was made in the form of financial adoption of cat Samus (right). Samus continues to live at De Poezenboot. The camera is now taking beautiful pictures of the cats again.
