In addition to individual recommendations, the platform also offers composite ones itinerariesDay-by-day plans packed with tips for those who really want to get to know a city. Everything is carefully curated by the Gloobles team, with a clear mission: to inspire travelers to discover unique places.

The question: a content platform with subscriptions and My Environment

Gloobles approached Van Ons with the desire to further develop their existing platform and prepare it for the next phase. Together with the Gloobles team, we explored how we could make the platform more user-friendly and visually consistent. Based on their new design adjustments, we worked towards a fresher, more intuitive user experience.

In addition to visual improvements, there was also a need for new functionality. For example, a personal My environment where users can save tips and view exclusive content. Gloobles also wanted to switch to a subscription model, where paying users get access to extensive itineraries and additional benefits. For payment processing, an integration with Mollie, and the webshop had to be linked to a fulfillment partner Fidelity.

The process: from acquisition to further development

When we took over the project we started with a technical audit: a thorough analysis of the existing codebase to quickly gain insight into the state of the platform. Based on this, we immediately made several targeted improvements that improved stability and performance. Together with the Gloobles team, we developed a roadmap in Jira, where all desired features, priorities and releases were recorded.

We have been working in short sprints, in which we go step by step new functionality roll out. There is a weekly meeting between Van Ons and Gloobles to discuss progress, prioritize tickets and the next sprint to be determined. This way, we remain flexible, but always maintain a focus on the long term.

The solution: flexible content website in Laravel with recurring payments

Gloobles' existing platform was built in LaravelFilament, a powerful foundation that allowed us to continue developing flexibly. Thanks to Laravel's modular nature, we were able to optimize both the editorial environment and the user interface. The content structure was improved, pages loaded faster, and managing tips, itineraries, and blog posts became more transparent for the editors.

We optimized the My environment where users can save tips, manage their profile, and view their subscription. We connected the platform to handle payments and subscriptions. Mollie, including support for direct debits via recurring payments. This way, users can easily upgrade to a paid account and gain access to exclusive content, such as curated itineraries or events.

In addition, we realized a webshop module for the sale of, among other things, the Gloobles book, linked to a fulfillment partner FidelityOrders placed through the site are automatically forwarded to Fidelity, so shipping and inventory management are fully automated.
